Grief grows differently in every person. Sadness, happiness, anger, denial—these are all parts of the process. Children grieve differently than adults, and it is crucial to create a space where they feel comfortable expressing their emotions. Because of your donations during the Associate Month of Giving (AMG), we are proud to offer a place where children and teens dealing with loss can connect with peers, express their grief, and honor their loved ones.
The Bright Star Center for Grieving Children and Families ensures that children have access to the tools they need to process their grief. It offers a safe, nurturing environment for children and teens coping with the loss of a loved one. Bright Star empowers young people to heal and thrive after loss by providing education, emotional support, and creative play.
All of which are offered at no cost to the community, thanks to gifts made to the Health First Foundation. Money you donate during AMG will be used to help more grieving children.
“When my husband suddenly passed away last year I was in a fog and had no idea what I was going to do to get through my days, let alone comfort my children,” shared one associate. “I turned to Bright Star so my kids could be in an environment where they could express whatever they needed. It helped all of us cherish our memories.”
