Seeing Is Believing: Design Data Visualizations That Win Funders Over
This interactive session empowers fundraising professionals with data visualization skills to craft persuasive proposals and impactful post-award reports. Grounded in cognitive psychology and design principles, the session teaches participants how to transform complex data into compelling visual stories that resonate with funders. We will cover techniques for presenting demographic and statistical data using Microsoft Excel, focusing on graphs that effectively illustrate impact, progress, and sustainability. Through interactive, real-time exercises, the group will apply these concepts and learn strategies to correct common visualization mistakes. Attendees will leave with a toolkit containing grant-specific templates, a data visualization checklist, and other resources to help them convey program impact and engage funders.
