Three years ago my wife, Laura, and I started foster care. We took in 4 kids and have been raising them ever since. We are now in the process and hope to adopt them in the next few months.
Before having children JA meant nothing to me. I didn’t know what it was or why I should promote it. Now, I see what it takes to raise a child and how valuable it is to see other people teaching them life lessons.
Anyone with children knows that sometimes, they hear things better from other people. JA gives this opportunity in the schools.
Last year I taught in a JA classroom for the first time and I absolutely loved it! Seeing the kid’s eyes light up when they learned something. Seeing them dream about their future and seeing someone stand in front of them who is achieving things they dream of achieving.
The golf tournament is the #1 fundraiser for JA each year to accomplish all they do for our kids.
