Fundraising Tips

Donate to your own fundraiser

  • Set an example and make the first donation to your page. It’s fair to expect most donors to match your initial donation, so if you’re hoping people donate $100, lead by example.

Ask for BIG DONATIONS

  • Remember, you’re raising money for an incredibly worthy cause, so don’t just ask for $10, ask for their wallet. In the end, donors will give what they’re comfortable with, but might as well aim for the stars!

Get your company to sponsor you

  • Talk to your supervisor about donating a large amount towards your fundraising. In turn, represent them by wearing their logo at the event
  • Matching gifts can play a huge role in reaching your goal – utilize them!

Stay consistent

  • Set a goal to ask at least one new person for a donation every day.
  • You’ll have better results if you stick with it on a regular basis

Post about it

  • Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Snapchat, and other social platforms are passive ways to get the word out about your fundraiser
  • You can share it to the masses or get personal by sliding into someone’s DM with your donation link

Keep your head up – stay positive!

  • Not everyone is going to donate – or even acknowledge your request. That’s okay. Everyone has their own thing going on, but the more people you ask, the more donations you will receive. Simple.

The JA Mission

  • Many of your donors may not know what Junior Achievement is. Check out the Fundraising Tool Kit on QGiv and the jasd.org website and do some research.
  • Have a few talking points ready when making your asks
  • Reach out to Rachel for suggestions if needed

Do not feel bad asking for money

  • Friends, family, co-workers – ask everyone!
  • You are not asking for yourself,  but on behalf of over 36,000 incredible students who need JA programs.
  • The worst thing that can happen is they say “no”. No biggie.

Be polite

  • Thank everyone for their donation and kindly request them to share your donation page with their networks!

Have fun! (this is most important)

  • We will have a BLAST on June 1st, but let’s start early through our FUN-draising!
