I am taking the 100 Wave Challenge by attempting to catch 100 waves in ONE DAY and raise $1,000 for a remarkable organization called Boys to Men Mentoring. I know what you're thinking, 100 waves doesn't seem like a big deal. I typically am able to catch 5-8 waves in an hour, so this means that I'll be in the water for atleast 12 hours if I have a chance at hitting this goal. That's a lot of paddling, a lot of sun, and a very exhausted Steve. It will all be worth it to raise funds for a great group that is helping our next generation succeed.
Boys to Men Mentoring (BTM) addresses the needs of the forgotten youth – fatherless and at-risk teenage boys who need the mentoring of good men in their lives. Through weekly in-school and after-school groups with their peers and BTM mentors, these angry, disconnected boys slowly become responsible, respectful and honorable young men. BTM activities are all geared to improve each boy's overall self-esteem, critical thinking skills, and self-accountability.
After just one year of weekly meetings, BTM boys see a material improvement in their grades and experience 85% fewer disciplinary issues.
BTM has been doing great work since 1996 and is also a 501(c)(3). They have helped more then 10,000 lost youth find a better path and work with more than 1,000 boys annually.
Please consider making a donation to my page and help me support these young men who are working to be the best they can be!
Thank you for your support.
