The American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA) Northwest Chapter is gearing up to host our annual Optimism Walk in Seattle, as part of a nationwide initiative to raise awareness and vital funds for the Parkinson's disease (PD) community.
The Optimism Walks are a cornerstone of APDA's efforts to empower individuals living with PD and their families while advancing research towards better treatments and ultimately a cure. By participating in the Walk, attendees not only show solidarity with those affected by Parkinson's but also contribute to the essential resources and programs provided by APDA to the local PD community. There are approximately one million people living with Parkinson’s disease in the United States – with an estimated 60,000 right here in the Northwest (Washington, Idaho, Montana, Alaska and Oregon).
Funds raised at the Optimism Walk support the APDA Northwest Chapter to provide to the local Parkinson’s disease (PD) community by providing support, education, and resources to those impacted by PD and to fund scientific research into the causes, prevention, treatments and ultimately the cure. Every dollar raised at the Optimism Walk makes an important difference.

The walking path is wheelchair accessible (walk as much or as little as you choose) and offers a flat surface along the trail.
