• A $1000 donation will enable our all-girl band to prepare for and perform center-stage at Haiti’s International Jazz Festival. This is an incredible leadership and performance moment for these talented young women.
• PAP Jazz is the largest jazz festival in Port Au Prince. Musicians travel from all over the world to perform and it’s an amazing opportunity for a young performer. And in Haiti, like many places in the world, girls don’t have the same opportunity as boys. That’s why we launched Plezi Mizik Au Feminin in 2021, a cross-cutting initiative aimed at girls’ leadership.
• Through MHI’s inspiring all-girl band, mentor training, and summer music camp, girls take center stage. Performing at PAP Jazz is an incredible opportunity for them to showcase their hard work and thrive in the leadership roles that they deserve to have. This remarkable achievement is a testament to their resilience and our program, which builds music skills and the confidence to use them.
