The Central and Davis Family YMCA is such a fantastic organization for our community. It has personally been a blessing for me and my family for decades. Years ago (think 1980's) my dad would work out and bring my brothers to work out with him. I remember hearing stories about how my brother Matt had a phobia of walking on the track around the small gym. My brothers played in the basketball league as well. This facilitated a time and place for them to bond together. After my dad left his job as a garbage man for BFI, he worked maintenance for the Central Y in the late 1990's and early 2000's. He would do anything to help, from shoveling the snow on the sidewalks to cleaning toilets. He was a great example of working with his strength for the Lord and was a blessing to those who walked into the YMCA. As a side note, this was a nice perk to me an my family, as we received a nice discount on our membership and I took advantage of the cybx room, which is now the fireside room. Now, having my own family, we have used both Y's for swim lessons, parents night out, Neptunes, Junior lifeguard, jumpstrech, etc, etc, etc. what a blessing it has been for us and I'm sure it is to many others. We love the Youngstown YMCA!!!! This is why I fight!
