Starting February 1st, I will be walking/running/intentionally moving 140 miles in 90 days as I participate in the 140/90 benefiting the Preeclampsia Foundation. This is my second year participating and I am excited to be doing the miles and fundraising for a great cause! 140/90 represents high blood pressure and the first sign that I personally experienced that led to me being diagnosed with preeclampsia when I was 32 weeks pregnant with my daughter. I experienced high blood pressure, severe swelling and had to deliver my daughter at 33 weeks. We spent a month in the NICU with her and I had a total of 10 days in the hospital. It took 6 weeks on medication for my blood pressure to return to a normal range. My daughter is an active 2-year-old now and I'm grateful to share my lived experience with others now.
The 140/90 Run benefits the Preeclampsia Foundation which supports research and the Cuff Project, which provides lifesaving blood pressure for pregnant women at high risk for hypertensive disorders.
Join me in meeting my goal of $300 to go towards this worthy cause!
