Running 140 miles in 90 days to raising money for the Preeclampsia Foundation
Thank you for your support!
As many of you know, I was diagnosed with Preeclampsia during my pregnancy with Vivienne. Before pregnancy I was healthy and fit, doing triathlons and had incredibly low blood pressure. But I was 38 years old and having my first baby. These are both risk factors for Preeclampsia. The diagnosis was scary. I had to be monitored very closely and ultimately Vivienne had to be delivered by emergent cesarean section 5 weeks early. Thankfully she was healthy. Tiny but healthy. After delivery my blood pressure was extremely high and I had a severe headache. I had to be admitted for 10 days. There was a risk I could have a stroke or seizure. Thankfully I recovered and Vivienne and I are healthy. But this cause is close to my heart. I am running 140 miles in 90 days (symbolic of the blood pressure threshold of concern in pregnancy 140/90). Please help me support the Preeclampsia Foundation by donating today to help others through research and education.
