Dear Bulldogs, Friends, and Supporters, As we continue celebrating Alabama A&M University’s historic 150th Anniversary, I invite you to join me in lighting the way for the next 150 years. The Torchbearer Campaign began as a bold grassroots initiative to raise $1 million — part of our larger goal to generate $15 million in support of student scholarships and key infrastructure projects, including the construction of our iconic pedestrian bridge. What started with alumni and friends hosting intimate gatherings around the country has grown into a powerful movement. Thanks to their leadership and your generosity, we’ve already surpassed $1.5 million, with momentum still building. The President’s Torch Reception — the most ambitious event in the series — is expected to raise $500,000, positioning us to exceed $2 million through the Torchbearer effort alone. This moment also marks the halfway point in our Torchbearer Reception series — a powerful testament to what’s possible when the AAMU family unites with purpose. But our work is not yet done. The full 150th Anniversary Campaign continues through December 31, 2025. Your continued support will help expand scholarships, enhance academic and campus life, and invest in transformative projects that will shape the next generation of Bulldog leaders.
