Five years ago, I joined Minds Matter SoCal as a volunteer, and I never imagined the impact that this decision would have on my life. Now, as a full-time member, I continue to see firsthand the power of this organization and its amazing community of students and volunteers. Our mission is to help first-generation high school students from low-income backgrounds achieve their dream of going to college. Through guidance and resources, we empower students who may otherwise find themselves lost in the college application process. As a first-generation Latina, I understand the challenges that come with navigating new territory, and I feel so grateful to now be able to share my experiences with students who share a similar background. As we expand into a seven-year program, supporting students from high school to college graduation and into their early careers, we’re inviting our community to help us make this possible. A monthly gift of $15 creates the steady support our students can count on. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference!
