Marian House, an organization founded & co-sponsored by the School Sisters of Notre Dame (my community) & the Sisters of Mercy is a beacon of hope and transformation for women in Baltimore city, my hometown. This remarkable organization has made it its mission to support women in breaking free from the chains of homelessness, healing from past traumas, and embarking on a journey toward a life of independence and wellness.
In 2012 I was invited to serve on the Board of Marian House. In the 11 years since then I have had the privilege of witnessing first hand how Marian house lives out its mission via opportunities to share meals with, celebrate milestones and recreate with the women/residents of Marian House. Without fail, the women have told me that the structure, love and support provided by the staff of Marian house has been life-changing for them.
