Through my old job as a public defender, I became familiar with many non-profit rehabilitative programs across the state. I can tell you that Marian House is the best of the best and one of the only programs designed specifially for women. It is one of the only non-profit organizations in Maryland that provides housing and high quality wrap around services to homeless women, many who have suffered from physical and sexual abuse, other trauma, and chemical dependency / addiction. We really need more programs like this one. The least we can do is financially support Marian House! The 5K Race to Embrace Independence is Marian House's most important annual fundraiser. Last time I checked, they were nowhere near meeting their fundraising goal, so please consider joining me for the 5K on Saturday morning and/or making a donation today.
