frequently asked questions.
Q: Did the event date change?
A: Yes, due to the increase in COVID-19 cases in Ohio, the committee decided the best course of action would be to postpone our 17th Annual Winter Walk event until April 23, 2022.
Q: Will the event have COVID-19 safety protocols?
A: We will continue to monitor COVID-19 guidelines. And as we approach the date, we will implement safety protocols if necessary. Check the COVID-19 tab for up-to-date infromation.
Q: What is the Winter Walk for Epilepsy?
A: The Walk is a fun, family event focusing public attention on epilepsy and raising funds for the programs and services of the Epilepsy Association. Walkers come from communities throughout Northeast Ohio.
Q: Where is the Walk?
A: The Walk will be held at the SouthPark Mall in Strongsville, Ohio located at 500 SouthPark Center, Strongsille, OH 44136
Q: Is the event indoors?
A : Yes! The event is held inside the mall before it opens to the public!
Q: How long is the Walk?
A: The Walk is a 2-mile fun walk/ stroll throughout the inside of the mall-- but walk as much or as little as you'd like.
Q: Do I need to register for the Winter Walk online?
A: We strongly recommend you pre-register online because our online registration allows for fast and secure process which also provides each walker with a personal fundraising page. This page allows participants to fund-raise online where donors can make donations to your fundraising efforts via credit card. This means you do not have to worry about tracking or collecting physical donations. If you need assistance registering online, please contact us at 216-579-1330.
Q: How do I get a paper registration form?
A: You can contact Nikki Johnson at njohnson@epilepsyinfo.org from the Epilepsy Association and she can provide you with a paper form. All paper registration forms, must be received before January 20, 2022.
Q: How much is the registration fee?
A: The fee is $30 for each adult and $20 for children. Age 4 and under are free, but must be registered.
Q: What do I get with the registration fee?
A: Adult and child registration fees include walk event entry, event t-shirt, and goodie bag.
Q: What if I can’t attend the Walk on January 22?
A: That’s okay because you can still participate in the Walk! We still would like to encourage you to register, fund-raise, and raise awareness for epilepsy—you would just be a virtual walker. We will even mail you your event t-shirt.
Q: What if I can’t attend the Walk on January 22 because I am sick that day?
A: If you are sick or any of your family members are sick, please stay home! Your registration won't be refunded, but we can mail out your t-shirt and other event goodies.
Q: Do you need volunteers to help?
A: YES. We are seeking entertainers, registration workers, activity table helpers, and more! Email njohnson@epilepsyinfo.org and let us know you're interested.
