18 Reasons Presents: Master Chefs at Home 2025 Celebrating the Flavors of Home

Raise a glass as our evening unfolds — from cooking demos of cherished recipes to a cozy-meets-elegant family-style dinner that proves the best memories are always made around the table. Hear inspiring stories of how 18 Reasons is changing lives in our community. Your presence supports 18 Reasons' mission to bring free cooking and nutrition education to Bay Area families.

Proceeds foster food security by teaching families to cook healthy meals together, fostering nutrition and connection; providing fresh ingredients and hands-on free nutrition education at home; supporting diabetes patients in improving their health through home-cooking skills; and providing prenatal and postpartum nutrition support for Black and Latine families.

Begin the evening at our opening reception, where masterful mixologists craft drinks inspired by family traditions. Our featured chefs will open their hearts and recipe books, presenting beloved dishes from their diverse cultural backgrounds that remind them of home. 

7:00-9:30 PM

As the gala unfolds, you'll enjoy an evening of exquisite dining, a heartwarming interactive cooking demonstration, a live speaker program, and a spectacular auction hosted by Michael Tate—all while experiencing how the simple act of cooking brings our community together.

Cocktail attire is encouraged and coat check will be available.

 

Parking and Public Transit

San Francisco Design Center is accessible by public transportation (9, 19, and 22 Muni Bus Routes; 16th St. Mission BART with transfer to 22 Muni Bus Route; 22nd Street Caltrain Station with transfer to 55 Muni Bus Route) and by car via Highway 101. Street parking is available nearby, with limited parking at a lot located at 100 Henry Adams St, San Francisco, CA 94103.

James Chand from Curryous Catering

Raquel Goldman from Norte 54

Norte54 is a modern Mexican bakery founded by Raquel Goldman, specializing in traditional pan dulce made with seasonal ingredients while infusing her grandmother's influence and Mexico's culinary heritage into each creation.

Seth Stowaway from Osito

The force behind Michelin-starred Osito, Seth brings his deep connection to live-fire cooking from his Texas roots to San Francisco's dining scene. His personal journey from San Antonio to culinary acclaim reflects the heart behind every dish he creates.

Anthony Strong from Pasta Supply Co.

Chef Anthony Strong is the owner and chef of Pasta Supply Co., a pasta shop and restaurant in San Francisco's Inner Richmond, known for its diverse selection of fresh and dried pasta, sauces, and pantry staples, as well as its approachable and affordable dinner service.

Eleana and Kevin from Shared Cultures

Shared Cultures, founded by Eleana Hsu and Kevin Gondo in San Francisco, crafts small-batch miso, shoyu, and umami seasonings using traditional methods and locally sourced ingredients. Their farm-to-ferment products combine wild-foraged mushrooms with Northern California's bounty, earning acclaim from both professional chefs and home cooks.
