Dear Friends, As many of you know, my daughter, Alexandra, has drug-resistant Epilepsy. She was diagnosed when she was an infant and has never gone a day in her life without multiple seizures. She has been on a whole host of medications, had brain surgery at 10 years old, had a pacemaker-like device implanted in her chest wall to stimulate her vagal nerve in July 2020, and is now on the ketogenic diet. And yet, her seizures remain. This, of course, has limited her in a number of ways, and for her safety cannot be left alone. Despite her limitations, she remains committed to her education at Sheridan College as well as to her beloved Toronto Maple Leafs. This year I am taking the challenge. The 1 in 100 Challenge for Epilepsy Canada. 360,000 Canadians live with epilepsy and the constant threat of seizures. That's about 1 in 100 people. I am embarking on an epic month-long 100 km National Fitness CHALLENGE in October to bring awareness, break down the stigma and raise money for epilepsy research. My goal is to raise $2000. Please consider sponsoring me for the 1 in 100 Challenge. I will be tracking my progress and updating you along the way!
