I am raising money for APS because every day I witness and experience the incredible work we do to help the homeless and neglected animals of the Durham community. Our staff cares for our animals 365 days a year, and so do our volunteers. With more than 5,000 animals entering our doors each year, we have a big and important job that impacts the daily lives of everyone in Durham. 

Although we operate the Durham County Animal Shelter - the only animal shelter in Durham - less than 1/3 of our funding comes from the county. We rely on donations from our generous supporters to get us through the year.
