My SPCA golden retriever Maggie has crossed the rainbow bridge, so I will be walking in memory of her and all the remarkable rescue dogs and cats whose antics over the past 50 years still make me smile. 

Zoey, my 10-month old adventure cat, is learning to walk on a leash and will be helping me raise funds this year.  Thanks to the care she received at SPCA Florida, she survived a life-threatening head injury and is now bouncy, snuggly and full of beans!

Last year's Walk donations helped to re-home 3,777 homeless animals and to spay/neuter 6,339, including 1,645 admitted to SPCA Florida’s Adoption Center, 2,968 owned animals and 1,726 community cats.  The goal is to help at least that many again this year.

Each of the animals adopted from SPCA Florida must be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, fed, housed, and often treated for illnesses or injuries that their adoption fees do not begin to cover.  I hope you will sponsor me, so that animals like Zoey can receive the care they need to be re-homed to loving families.
