This past year has been one of the most difficult years I probably have ever endured. Our family moved to Charlotte from St. Louis we knew no one, had no connections here, heck I had never even been to the state of North Carolina. Reasons for the move were career driven hoping I could bring experience from St. Louis to Charlotte and knowledge of Legacy systems. Within the first few months I was trying to figure out what our new normalcy was and make a life here. I quickly slid into depression which affected all aspects of my life. With that I was having quite a time with my health physically as well. My throat was swelliing could not find a cause for it concerned it may be cancer I seen a multitude of doctors, I had endoscopies, biopsies, allergy testing and everything came back negative, finally landing on it that all of it was preventable and that it was a Histamine Intolerance. I was happy they found no cancer, fast forward a few months later towards the end of last year I started having digestive issues as well now being scoped from the other end haha. They found precancerous polyps, although concerning I was happy we discovered it early. Great everything is getting better again not so fast in the past couple months started having abdomen pain yep another round of probing and tests. This time finding cysts on my ovaries, the doctors believe at this point they are benign however need to be watched closely. I am having regular ultrasounds next one being in 2 weeks to see if further action is needed. This is why this cause is so important to me.
I made a promise to myself this year to live life to the fullest, improving my health, mentally, physically, and being more involved in the community. Last year I joined a local gym and to date I have lost 47 pounds 160 to 113 and building muscle, I have never done Spinning and honestly is something that scares me but all part of the trying new things, living life to the fullest, and supporting a great cause. I hope this year is full of new experiences and trying to help make an impact anywhere that I can. With all of this being said I only came across this opportunity last night and only have 3 days to try and raise proceeds, and awareness. Please help me in support of this great cause by either attending with me, donating or simply sharing on social media. Shew if you made it this far and still reading thank you!!!!!!!!
