Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine provides healthcare to those who do not have access to healthcare otherwise.  Not only does the facility provide medical care, they also provide dental care and have several specialists who volunteer.  The LVIM facility is a state of the art medical facility and the docutors who volunteer are not compensated for their time.  The donations go to provide medical supplies and prescriptions to the patients.

The Lakeland Derby is the biggest fundraising event for LVIM and it is an honor to be a part of the Derby this year.  Lakeland has several fundraising events throughout the year, but for me, the Derby is my favorite.  The first time I attended the Lakeland Derby, I decided that I would be a jockey.  The opportunity to provide for those people in Polk county who work hard to make ends meet is such a privilege.  I am so blessed to live in the most giving city in Florida and am proud of my city!
