Sarah Keener and Kevin Albaum met a few years when Sarah spent a full day volunteering at a fundraiser that Kevin was putting on for a non-profit organization.  They both remain fully committed to support Lakeland's non-profit organizations and especially those that are locally owned and operated. This lead to their desire to compete in the Lakeland Derby and support a fantastic organization like Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine ("LVIM").  Not only planning to compete, Sarah and Kevin's joint goal is not only to win the race, but more importantely to win the fundraising challenge by raising more money for LVIM than any of the other nine (9) competing teams.   We look forward to seeing many of you on April 28 and at a few fundraisers we will be setting up around town in April.  (We will update the events on this page with links to facebook event pages)

LVIM provides medical services to the working class Lakelanders that cannot afford private health insurance but also make too much money to qualify for Medicaid coverage from the state (patients generally must make less than 200% of the federal poverty level).  LVIM has many specialists volunteering their time at LVIM or in their offices, in the areas of Asthma, Cardiology, Chiropractic, Pediatrics, Dermatology, ENT, GI, Dental, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology and Optometry, Physical Therapy, Podiatry, General Surgery, Vascular, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine and Women’s Health. In addition, LVIM leverages every available community resource to provide vital tests or procedures that LVIM patients may need.
