Our sweet Paisley was born early at 36 weeks. She was 6lbs. 11oz and 19 inches long. Her beautiful dark hair and eyes won our hearts immediately! We noticed right away something didn't seem right, but was reassured that all was ok. By the time Paisley was 4 months old, my mother's intuition was right. Something was definitely wrong! We spent Memorial Day weekend at The U Of I Children's Hospital and received some of the most horrific news. Our baby girl was never going to be "normal" and her life was going to be very difficult.
At this time all we knew is that Paisley had cerebral palsy and bi lateral brain damage from having multiple strokes while I was pregnant with her. They also diagnosed her with WEST syndrome. We were told don't expect much.
3 years later here we are. We still have our beautiful baby girl and we keep making strides every day. We have had a lot of set backs, but Paisley always bounces back.
We know that things aren't always easy, but this little girl has opened our eyes to what's really important in life. We live each day to its fullest and never take for granted what we have.
We are #paisleystrong and she is #strongerthanmost
