Founded in 1959 by visionary Rochester native Mary Gooley, the Hemophilia Center is currently honoring over 60 years of service to the area bleeding disorders community. It is the only Hemophilia Treatment Center in the Rochester region. Over the years, we have seen amazing advances in medical technology transform severe bleeding disorders from devastating diseases causing severe disability and hardship to conditions that have become very manageable with the right treatments and medications.  However, there is still a long way to go. Hemophilia is one of the most expensive medical conditions to treat and patients still face many obstacles to care.  You can help make a difference!   Caring is in your blood!

The Mary M. Gooley Hemophilia Center has gained national attention because of its comprehensive care model that goes beyond just simply treating the medical condition. This model includes: education, advocacy, counseling, life assistance, home care training and health counseling. The Center also participates in several national research endeavors aimed at improving the lives of people with bleeding disorders.

This year, the Center celebrates its 60th anniversary of serving the Rochester-area bleeding disorders community.  We couldn't have done it without the help of people like you.  Thanks to your generous support, we look forward to another successful 60 years of service!  Every step counts!
