I'm #FREEZINGFORAREASON!  My reasons are sweet five year old Eileen, the daughter of Colleen and Scott Schaefers, my Aunt Patty, and my mother-in law, Bozyslawa Andersohn.  Eileen was born with down syndrome and is a spunky five year old who is adored by her family and friends.  My Aunt Patty passed away 7 years ago.  When she was born with down syndrome in 1961, the doctors tried to convince my grandparents that she should be put in an instution.  My grandpa emphatically said no, we will take Patty home and love her, just like all our other children.  Patty was adored by her 7 older siblings and her many nephews, nieces, and great-nephews and great-nieces.  My mother in law, Bozyslawa Anderson passed away almost one year ago.  She loved volunteering with special needs children; her time with her special friends were some of her happiest memories.  

I'm proud to be #FREEZINFORAREASON and supporting the 7,500+ special olympians who compete year-round in the city of Chicago. All funds raised benefit the Special Olympics Chicago athletes, covering program costs such as transportation, sports equipment, team uniforms and food. Through your donations, people with intellectual disabilities have the opportunity to discover new strengths, abilities and success.
