Join us for the Union Home Mortgage Foundation’s 4th Annual Hustle for Homeownership 5K - completely VIRTUAL with opportunities to participate from June 12th to June 26th!
Sign up to run, walk, bike, swim, or even dance your way through 3.1 miles! Better yet, you choose your course, you choose your participant buddies and you choose which of our four pillars you’re getting active for: Financial Literacy, Career Readiness, Education and Housing; OR take on “The Challenge” and tackle a total of 12.4 miles for all four pillars during your two-week window!
To guarantee your chosen pillar and shirt sizes, please register by May 14. After this date, shirt sizes and pillars will be based on availability.
Final deadline for this year's 5K is Friday, June 4, in order to receive your race pack in time.
NEW THIS YEAR:
- Have a friend or family member in mind to complete "the Challenge" with you? Save an extra $5 by registering an additional Challenge participant with your registration by selecting our Race Buddy package.
- Any participant that raises $100 or more towards their individual fundraising page (registration costs not included) will earn backpack beverage cooler following the race.
- Teams that raise at least a $100/team member collectively will also earn this swag item per team member.
- For both that are able to raise these funds by May 14, you or your team's name will be added to our honor roll on the back of ALL race shirts.
- Engage your friends, family or kids in the action with our option virtual running scavenger hunt this year. Gain access to this fun challenge after your registration.
All proceeds from this year’s 5K will benefit the UHM Foundation, equipping families with the tools and resources to achieve economic self-sufficiency. Since 2015, the Foundation has given over $1 million to programs and nonprofits in the areas of financial literacy, education, career readiness and housing.
- The virtual race will run from June 12th to June 26th. You can complete your 5k distance at any point during the month. For those who dare to take on the Challenge of running for all four pillars, you may also complete each of these four races at any time during August.
- All registrants will receive a race t-shirt in the color corresponding to the chosen pillar or Challenge, a medal and a postcard to link you back to our website with more info! Challenge participants willl receive custom wireless ear buds in their race packs, as well. A custom race bib and certificate of completion will be provided to you virtually! That’s right, this year everyone is a winner just for taking the time to get out and get moving! Registrants will not be required to submit times.
- How else can you contribute to this year’s Hustle for Homeownership? Ask your friends, family, and coworkers to participate with you! Create a team and share your fundraising link to help raise funds. To help, we’ve even created a Hustle for Homeownership Bingo card to get you started.
- As a virtual race, so much of how we interact this year will be online. Take a minute to use our promotional marketing materials and social media pages to share your involvement and encourage others to do the same! Add our frame to your profile pictures, raise money with our bingo cards, invite others to our Facebook event, and even submit your favorite running songs to our playlist!
