Dear Golden Classmates

Alabama A&M and all the HBCUs were founded on the principle of educating black boys and girls because they were denied the opportunity to get an education from primarily white institutions.  Therefore; it is imperative that the Class of 1972 continue the trend set by the classes of 1970 and 1971 of donating over $250,000 to Alabama A&M University.

The class agents sent out a letter in Oct 2019 requesting each classmate give at least $1,250.  However, based on our last class meeting in Nov 2021, the amount of $5,000 and $2,000 was recommended as doable goals.  If we all step up to the plate and give generously, we can achieve our goal.  We appreciate all who have donated and will continue to donate to the Class of 1972 endowment.

If each classmate donates at least $1,000 by the end of 2021, we will be able to raise over $100,000 which is 40% of the funds needed to reach our goal of $250,000.  Not only is this a way to increase our class funds, but it is also a tax write-off for 2021. 

We can use the same approach of each classmate donating another $1,000, $5,000 or more in 2022. If we are successful, we can raise another $100,000 or more which should provide enough funds to easily exceed our $250,000 goal.   This is a "win-win" for the Class of 1972 and less of a hardship on classmates who may not be able to give the entire $5,000 class contribution.

WE CAN DO THIS TOGETHER, SO LET'S MAKE IT HAPPEN.

Special recognition will be given at the banquet to those classmates donating $5,000 or more.
