I registered for the Pink 13.1 because I want to make a real difference in the fight against breast cancer for Virginians. Having friends and family who have been impacted by breast cancer, I have committed to running 13.1 miles on October 22, 2022 in Abingdon to raise awareness in honor and memory of them. The money we raise through the Pink 13.1 is used to provide funding for screening and diagnostic breast health services for uninsured and underinsured in SWVA, individualized resource coordination, free breast health educational materials; newly diagnosed, caregiver, and survivorship packets and advocacy for improved health public policy and research dollars for the state. 100% of funds raised remain in Virginia to help Virginians.
