COVID-19 HEALTH AND SAFETY

Every day at Standing Together Against Rape (STAR) the safety of our clients, staff and volunteers is our number one priority.   While we look forward to this extraordinary in-person event, the health and safety of our guests is extremely important to us, so we are implementing Covid-19 mitigation strategies this year.

An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and guests with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable. Although STAR has instituted reasonable practices in an attempt to lessen or reduce the spread of COVID-19, STAR cannot guarantee that you will never get exposed to the virus or get sick from it. By attending a STAR event, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.

Please read all of the information on this page before attending the Masquerade Ball.  If you have questions or concerns, please call us at (907) 276-7279 or email star@staralaska.org.

Thank you for your kindness and cooperation as we implement these measures to make this event as safe as possible.

For more information and resources regarding Covid safety, visit conquercovidak.com

The Conquer COVID Coalition is made up of Alaskan businesses, healthcare organizations, Alaska Native organizations, community leaders, and everyday Alaskans – working side-by-side to defeat the pandemic. The sooner we come together and achieve this goal, the sooner we can fully open Alaska’s economy, our schools, and our way of life.

The CCC partners with local organizations and community members to educate Alaskans about COVID-19 and about the resources available to help take steps to fully reopen our economy and communities.

We all play a part in getting through this pandemic – whether it is hosting a vaccination pop-up clinic, driving a loved one to get vaccinated, or wearing a mask in public. Every action makes a difference.
