CompassCare TeleHealth vs. Abortion by Mail

What’s This About? What’s Going On?

The Trends:

  • Medical abortions (abortion pill) are increasing. They now comprise half of all abortions.
  • After many years of talking about it, COVID made TeleHealth a reality throughout medicine.
  • Mail order pharmacies.
  • Abortion pills + mail order prescriptions + TeleHealth = Online Abortions

How Does Abortion by Mail Work?

  • Patient does an online search for “abortion pill by mail” or “abortion telehealth services” or “abortion online clinic.” Google it! You’ll be astounded by what comes up!
  • Patient calls a virtual abortion clinic such as “Hey Jane” to name one of many.
  • Patient answers a few questions. That’s all!!!
  • In 1-3 days, two pills arrive in the mail.
  • Patient self-administers at home. The pill for Day 1 takes the baby’s life. The pill for Day 2 expels the baby from the mother’s body.

How Is CompassCare Responding?

Upon learning about abortion pills by mail in January, a few days of online research led to formation of a project team. CompassCare already has a significant portion of the needed infrastructure in place, especially a team of experienced nurses, an adaptable service process with supporting software, an experienced Scheduling Team, a flexible phone system, and years of successful online marketing experience. CompassCare TeleHealth is expected to test market in Greater Rochester beginning in mid-to-late May, and then expand to all of New York State, including New York City, later in the year.

Can CompassCare TeleHealth Go National?

It already has! On March 23, a pregnant woman in Texas, where abortion is banned after six weeks, contacted a pregnancy center in Louisiana in search of an abortion. The center knew of the CompassCare TeleHealth project and connected the woman with the CompassCare scheduling line; who connected her with a CompassCare nurse who had moved to North Carolina, but continues as a member of the TeleHealth project team. The nurse provided TeleHealth services using the developing process. The woman chose to continue her pregnancy AND prayed to receive Jesus as her Savior. Texas to Louisiana to Rochester to North Carolina to eternity! Praise God!

What Can You Do?

  • Pray!
  • Support the Walk for Life. While CompassCare has a headstart with infrastructure, CompassCare TeleHealth will incur additional expenses, including additional office space as well as nursing and scheduling staff.
