About the JOY Missions Team
The purpose of JOY short-term missions teams is to bring the love of Jesus to individuals who have been rescued from trafficking or who are living in high-trafficking risk communities. We seek to be a light in dark places and bring JOY to those in need! This trip will help support the mission of combating human trafficking through hands-on service and outreach in Belize!
We will also be running a camp for preteens in the Belmopan area around the theme of boundaries. Sexual abuse and trauma are extremely common in Belize, so our camp will focus on body-positivity, our identity in Christ, personal boundaries, spiritual boudnaries, appropriate contact, how to respond and report abuse, as well as giving a place for preteens to share in a safe and loving environment.
We will also have the opportunity to travel to San Pedro island to work with kids who are at a high-risk of abuse, exploitation, and trafficking, as well as work with survivors who are on their healing journey of recovering from these same things. Our desires is to be a team of hope and JOY; teaching and encouraging those who are most at risk or are recovering from exploitation and trauma.
Your donation helps send each team member on a trip that will not only impact them, but also the children and teens of Belize! By participating in building a future restoration home, we are ensuring that rescues can take place and that the girls can end up in a safe and loving environment, designed specifically to fosters healing and restoration from trafficking.
We seek to be the hands and feet of Jesus by loving and serving in a practical way!
