Hello friends and family! This summer, I have the incredible opportunity to join with JOY International in a fight against human trafficking! As some of you may know, I have a huge heart to reach and bless the least of these, those Jesus has called us to serve in love. I have decided to join with JOY International this summer because that is their main focus; serving the least of these.
We will be running a camp for preteens in the Belmopan area around the theme of boundaries. Sexual abuse and trauma are widespread in Belize, so our camp will focus on body-positivity, our identity in Christ, personal boundaries, spiritual boundaries, appropriate contact, how to respond and report abuse, as well as giving a place for preteens to share in a safe and loving environment.
We will also have the opportunity to travel to San Pedro island to work with kids who are at a high risk of abuse, exploitation, and trafficking, as well as work with survivors who are on their healing journey of recovering from these same things. We desire to be a team of hope and JOY; teaching and encouraging those who are most at risk or recovering from exploitation and trauma.
We seek to fight the darkness by bringing light and love, and battle trafficking by providing a safe home for girls to receive counseling and trauma therapy. I need to raise $2,500 to cover the costs of this trip and to purchase the needed materials. Will you consider donating to help send me? All donations are tax-deductible and non-refundable. All my thanks and love!
