As many of you know, the vivacious light in my life, Aurora, battles every day with Dravet Syndrome. This rare, catastrophic, lifelong form of epilepsy can strike at any moment, turning a seemingly ordinary day into an emergency. But it's not just the seizures; it’s the countless hospital visits, the cocktail of medications, the developmental challenges, and the ever-looming uncertainty.
Yet, in the face of these adversities, my beautiful Aurora shines with an otherworldly radiance. Her bravery is boundless, her spirit untamed. Every giggle, every hug, every milestone achieved is a testament to her unyielding spirit and our family's determination to never let Dravet define her destiny.
This Thanksgiving, I'm not just running a race. I'm running for Aurora. I'm running for every child with Dravet Syndrome and for every parent who knows the sleepless nights filled with worry. I'm participating in the Dash for Dravet to raise awareness and funds for research – so that children like Aurora can dream of a future unburdened by the constraints of this condition.
But I can't do it alone.
Join "Aurora's Cosmic Gobblers" team. Let's dash together, not just as participants, but as torchbearers of hope. Donate, share our story, or, better yet, lace up those sneakers and run alongside us. Every dollar raised, every step taken, brings us closer to a world where Dravet Syndrome doesn't hold our loved ones captive.
Aurora, with her celestial name, is my beacon. Through the darkest nights and the most challenging days, her light guides me forward. But together, with your help, we can make her light and the lights of countless children, shine even brighter.
Thank you for your generosity, your empathy, and for taking the time to be a part of our journey. Let's make this Thanksgiving not just a day of gratitude, but a day of hope, purpose, and transformative change for children like Aurora.
