Dear Friends,
As many of you already know for nearly the past 20 years I have been highly involved with an organization near & dear to me called Junior Achievement of Southern Massachusetts (JASM). Thru volunteers such as yours truly, JA as it is more commonly known brings important programs about the topics of workforce readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy to more than 5,000 students in grades K-12 each school year throughout Southeastern Massachusetts. Like so many other organizations, due to the pandemic JA was impacted first by the closure of the school buildings and then a shift to remote online learning which didn't allow our volunteers to visit the students in-person.
While thanks to digitals platforms the organization was able to shift delivery of its valuable programs to reach many of those students, unfortunately typical fundraising efforts, which are so vital to our success, were not possible in the same manner as in years before. That comes at a time when JA programs are needed more than ever before as a result of the significant negative impacts that many students have suffered due to the pandemic. However, I’m pleased to report that JASM is now working to overcome that challenge and I’m sharing a link with you to a personal fundraising page that I’ve created for my participation in the 2023 IRONAMN fundraiser being next month to support Junior Achievement’s efforts. Along those lines, any consideration that you may be willing to provide to this worthy cause would be sincerely appreciated.
Together with Junior Achievement, we can ensure that we give local students in our region a better chance at a brighter future. On behalf of the organization and the thousands of students served please accept my sincere thanks for your consideration & support.
Sincerely,
Will Mendonca
