For over 30 years, during the chilling winter months, Samaritan Ministries’ Penny Campaign has brought together different generations of the Winston-Salem community to help spread awareness and raise funds for our hungry and homeless neighbors. The Campaign kicks off November 1, celebrates with collection day on December 2 and concludes on December 31.

As Winston-Salem's only community Soup Kitchen by day and men’s homeless shelter by night, Samaritan Ministries is open 365 days and nights per year. Last year, we served 101,603 meals to our hungry neighbors and provided safe overnight shelter to 333 homeless men. We have been a consistent presence in the lives of our guests since 1981.
