Why I Walk
We went to a regular 33 week check up. We were going to my parents for dinner after. The Nurse took my Blood Pressure multiple times. I didn't think to much of it. Then when the Doctor came in she checked my Blood Pressure again, asked me about my symptoms. None of which seemed like actual symptoms of anything, I was tired, and felt full all the time. Of course I did I was 33 weeks pregnant. We were sent to the Hospital right from the office. Once I checked in at the hospital we were brought directly to a labor room. I had no visual changes, that shocked the staff. I had a treatment of Magnesium- terrible. The next morning I was informed that I would have to deliver, I was 33 weeks and 100% against this plan. I wanted to wait as long as I could for our baby's lungs to develop. I had 2 rounds of steroid injections before I agreed to start the induction process. 4 days later our son was born without any need for respiratory intervention. He stayed in a Special Care Nursery for 16 days. We were lucky. My Blood Pressure regulated itself after 1 week. We were lucky.
We walk to raise awareness and to research funds.
