Why I am Participating:
Hi there! My name is Leigh Ann, I am mother, wife, daughter, career women and a Roanoke native. When I’m not being a mom to my two beautiful girls, Isabel and Madelyn I am traveling for work. I’ve always had a passion for helping others and healthcare so what better job than medical sales. As a product executive for Siemens Healthineers I have the greatest and most important opportunity, to talk breast care health each day with my customers while bringing the very latest in mammography technology to facilities in VA. I am excited to part of this and help support such an amazing cause and bring more awareness to women taking charge of their breast health journey, oh and let’s raise some money!
The Sole Stars campaign engages leaders in our communities as representatives in the fight against breast cancer. During the month-long campaign, each Sole Star will raise or give a minimum of $1,000, which will be used to support the work of the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation (VBCF.) The money raised through the Roanoke Sole Stars campaign will pay for breast health services like diagnostic mammograms, MRIs, ultrasounds and biopsies for uninsured and underinsured women in Southwest Virginia.
Sole (noun): the undersurface of a shoe; the sole is meant to provide footwear with the necessary support, giving traction and protection from the surfaces it will be in contact with.
Star (noun): a celebrated, prominent or distinguished person; synonym: VIP · (very) important person.
VBCF Sole Star (noun): a very important person providing support for our mission to eradicate breast cancer by raising awareness and funds in their community and providing traction for our mission; willing to have fun while wearing awesome pink shoes!
