This is my first year on the UNC Men's Rowing team and I love it! Just six weeks ago I had never stepped foot on a boat, and this past Sunday I competed at the High Point Rowing Festival, where my boat won 2nd in our event! The Rowing team took me in without having any experience and is equipping me to compete alongside varsity athletes. I am motivated to continue training with the team because I believe we can bring home a trophy from the American Collegiate Rowing Association National Championship in May. Because we are a club team, the university does not provide us with the funding necessary for full successful operations. For our Ergathon we will be rowing a rowing machine for 24 hours straight (~30 min shift each) from midnight on October 14th to midnight on the 15th. Rowing is a very fun and demanding team sport but equipment and travel for races and training are not cheap. We are soliciting donations to help us maintain our boats and enable us to fund training trips and regattas for the entire year. We do not take your donation lightly and thank you for your support!
