Welcome to my fundraising page!

This October I'll be running the Bank of America Chicago Marathon and I'm so excited to also have the opportunity to raise money for a cause that is so meaningful to me! I am proud to be a member of Team One Step and to raise money for Camp One Step, an organization that operates camps and other recreational and educational experiences for children who have been diagnosed with cancer. Their mission is to cure the spirit by providing an environment of hope, strength, and empowerment to children and families affected by childhood cancer diagnosis and treatment.

As many of you know, my older brother Andrew was diagnosed with stage IV neuroblastoma when he was only 2 years old. It was an incredibly difficult time for Andrew and the rest of our family. We are so grateful that he was able to overcome his cancer diagnosis, and that he is happy and healthy to this day. Andrew was able to go to a similar retreat at a horse ranch in Arizona after his treatment. He was young, so he doesn't remember a lot, but he still remembers feeling a sense of community and that it was nice to be around kids like himself outside of the hospital. I’m so glad that an experience like that could offer him that community and a break from the countless hospital visits.

It not only helps me achieve my goal of running the Chicago Marathon, but more importantly it will help provide a similar sense of community and respite to kids and families facing childhood cancer diagnoses.
