Hi there!

I’m Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and I’m doing it with a goal of raising $20,000 in support of Bronson Children’s Hospital. Will you join me in making a difference?  I will also be matching up to $10,000 of all donations.

Climbing Africa’s highest peak will take me about a week to complete and over 40 miles trekking the Lemosho route.  I will be traveling with a group alongside experienced guides and porters who will help ensure my safety as I reach Mount Kilimanjaro’s snow-capped summit. An incredible rush I cannot wait to experience; the feeling of standing atop the world’s highest free-standing mountain at 19,341 feet above sea level.

Although this journey may be one of the most physically challenging times of my life, it certainly will not be the scariest. In fact, those times are reserved in my mind for when my daughter Kayla was five years old, admitted for several days at Bronson Children’s Hospital. I distinctly remember her in her hospital bed as the care team came in and out, day after day trying to make her better. I can recall the pokes, the tears, and the beeping monitors. As a mother, I was terrified. Those nights were long and filled with emotional weight.

But just as distinctly, I also remember how compassionate every single person was. I remember the doctors, nurses and child-life specialists going the extra mile to do what was best for my child, even if it took a little longer. I remember the entire care team making Kayla feel important and cared for. The Bronson Children’s Hospital care team guided us, and kept us safe, just as my guides will do on Mount Kilimanjaro.

Choosing to do this climb in support of Bronson Children’s Hospital comes from those memories. Not only do I have the pleasure of serving as the Chief Financial Officer of Bronson Healthcare Group, but I’m also a mom who experienced first-hand the exceptional care and dedication of the staff of Bronson Children’s Hospital. I am personally inspired to give back, to climb not just for the summit, but for all the children in our community, who demonstrate remarkable strength every day. Each donation fuels my ascent, turning every foot of elevation gained into funds for vital medical resources and support services.

I am personally dedicated to making a positive impact to Bronson Children’s Hospital and will be matching up to $10,000 of all donations made to my climb. Together, we can make a lasting difference!
