Hello Family & Friends!

As many of you know, I had the privilege of celebrating my 10th year anniversary of being CANCER FREE last November!  I could have not done without my family and friends. With that being said, I will be running my 4th marathon, BMW Berlin Marathon, to empower children diagnosed with cancer and their families this year. 

As a cancer survivor, I saw firsthand how cancer does not only affect the one that has it but their family & village. My family suffered when I suffered and rejoice when I finish any treatment, surgery, or medication with me. During this time, I started running and I remember them encouraging me to take care of my body but also my mental and spiritual self. I found such strength and love through running, and it helped my soul know we were able to bear anything that was coming my way. But one of the most important thing I learned and know helped me were the moments I spent with my family during these times, just laughing and feeling “normal” again.

I was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 27 which is a “young” to many. I cannot even imagine how children & their families handle the mental and spiritual mountain that cancer may be. However, just like my journey, I have witness how important quality time with family has help some of my friends when take this journey with their children.

Team One Step supports Camp One Step by Children's Oncology Services, an organization that operates camps and other recreational and educational experiences for children who have been diagnosed with cancer.  One Step Programs aim to cure the spirit by providing an environment of hope, strength, and empowerment. During the pandemic, Camp One Step pivoted to offer virtual camps so now they can serve more children than ever before- even in their hospital beds.
