Owen Watson is a bright and shining light to all those that he meets. He loves to read books, sing songs, and listen to music. He relishes in playing with a ball, exploring, and trying new things. He is tenacious, determined, and cherished beyond measure. At three months old, Owen had his first seizure and it lasted more than eight minutes. Owen has had thousands of seizures this year alone. While most are short, some of his seizures have lasted over an hour, and sometimes, he has 200-300 seizures in a day.

Just after his first birthday, Owen was diagnosed with Dravet Syndrome. Dravet Syndrome is a rare, intractable, and catastrophic form of epilepsy. Owen, unfortunately, will never outgrow these seizures. He requires constant care and attention, and will likely require an even higher level of care as he gets older. As for Dravet Syndrome, there is no cure. But, we hope to one day have a cure.
