Why am I running for the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism?
When I decided I wanted to run for a cause and I found that Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism had a team, I knew it was a perfect fit. Not only do I get to run a race at a place close to my heart (Disneyland), but I get to run for a cause close to my heart. In high school I was a member of, and president my senior year, of my high school's chapter of Best Buddies. Additionally, in college, my sorority's philanthropy was Autism Speaks where we we're able to do many charity events and raise money for the cause. Finally, I was born and raised in Massachusetts, this foundation being based out of MA hits close to home. When I was accepted by Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism I was honored. Help me live up to this great honor by helping me to meet my $3,000 goal!
Why am I running for me?
I am someone who has always struggled to find a type of regimented exercise I enjoy and stick with. Running is something I enjoy; always moving, different things to see, adventures to go on, places to run, and areas for improvement. runDisney races are not only a great motivation I use to hold myself accountable with maintaining my routine but they are such a fun experience each time I do it. With each race I challenge myself to go to the next level whether that’s speed, length, or number of races. I am a Southern California resident and when I heard runDisney was returning to Disneyland I was thrilled, I am beyond honored to be running for this foundation.
