I'm participating in DogFest Orlando because I love dogs and know the joy they bring to our lives each and every day. I also believe in Canine Companions and their mission to provide expertly trained service dogs to adults, children and veterans with disabilities FREE of charge.
For the past two years Mike and I have raised two puppies from when they were 8-week old baby puppies until we sent them off to puppy college (professional training) at 18 months. During this time we provided them a safe and happy home to grow and learn how to be someone’s future companion! In addition to vet visits and puppy classes, they also got to explore places they might visit with their person - like the grocery store, a restaurant, or even the local brewery.
What we’ve enjoyed most about this journey is learning from the puppies as they learn from us. They each let their individual personalities shine through everything they do. Lay down and stay down? Jade would never. Cuddle all day everyday no matter what you’re doing or feeling? Buddy’s your boy! They each learned at their own pace and taught us how to trust the process.
Leading up to DogFest Orlando, I am raising money to support the Canine Companions mission. The impact these dogs have on the lives of people with disabilities is incredible. Help me get to my fundraising goal by donating online so we can get more of these amazing Canine Companions service dogs into the lives of those who need them. Every little bit will help me reach my goal. Thank you!
