Hi everyone! Thank you for taking the time to check out my fundraising page. I am participating in Dye it For Dravet to help raise awareness and critical funding for an organization very dear to my heart, the Dravet Syndrome Foundation.
 

The month of June is Dravet Syndrome Awareness month. As some of you may know, my daughter Jacqueline began having life-threatening seizures when she was only two months old. Her first seizure lasted for nearly 45 minutes before it finally subsided. Witnessing her tiny body shake violently was one of the most frightening things I have ever witnessed. We made many rounds to see various specialist, therapist, and holistic practitioners to find relief and some explanation of why this was happening. At first, there was a thought that maybe she would outgrow the seizures. But there were countless ones to follow. Despite lots of interventions, therapies, and medications, nothing seemed to truly help. 
 

Eight years would pass before my daughter was formally diagnosed with the rare and catastrophic form of epilepsy, known as Dravet Syndrome. And our family was so fornute to finally have a better understanding as to why Jackie did not respond well to traditional interventions. After years of searching for some kind of answer, for a diagnosis, this awareness opened up life-changing opportunities for Jackie. One of the greatest benefits of having this diagnosis moving forward was to connect with other Dravet families. People who understand what this life can be like for individuals with this diagnosis. It's heart-wrenching and comforting at the same time to know that you are not alone in this journey.
