On January 24, 2006, I woke up with a numb sensation on the right side of my body. I was a junior in high school and went through the day complaining about this odd feeling. I cheered at the Bishop Kelley vs. Bixby high school game that night and suddenly lost functions in my right leg. After months of blood tests, hospital stays, spinal tap, MRIs, neurology appointments and neuropsychology tests, I was given a Pediatric MS diagnosis. This was rare at the time. I’ve lived with this disease longer than without it. I’ve seen the impact of research and now I’m super proud to be working with Jo and Scott Rampy to put our efforts toward MS Research specific to remyelination. The funds raised for this “anniversary” will be supporting efforts at UAMS, Northwestern University and University of California at San Francisco.
