Why I Walk

In 2018 I lost my mother, who was only 72 at the time, to Alzheimer's after a long hard battle with early onset Alzheimer's. Since that time I have made it one of my missions and passions to do whatever I can to support others on this journey through education, support services for patients and caregivers, and research to one day find a cure.

More than 6 million Americans of all ages have Alzheimer's. Seventy-three percent are age 75 or older. About 1 in 9 people age 65 and older (10.7%) has Alzheimer's. Alzheimer's begins 20 years or more before memory loss and other symptoms develop. The time is now to act - let's support those who are already suffering and protect ourselves, our children and future generations from this devastating disease.

Lynn loved all eight of her grandchildren. Being a grandmother was one of the true joys of her life. Sadly she will miss so many of their life moments as she was taken too soon by Alzheimer's.
