Your gift can be their hope - join us as a Guardian Angel.

What if you couldn't afford the proper nutrition needed to help build enough strength to begin cancer treatment?

Some of our neighbors fall into what's known as the coverage gap - earning too much to qualify for Medicaid, yet living paycheck to paycheck, unable to afford their medical expenses. The Compassionate Care Fund helps these eligible patients by providing access to stay well, which may help with transportation, prescriptions or medical equipment.

Together, we can uplift our neighbors in need.

Cheryl's story.

A tragic accident left Cheryl with an amputation, a traumatic brain injury (TBI), and PTSD, she faced overwhelming challenges. Living on a fixed income, managing her mounting medical expenses seemed impossible.

But thanks to a Guardian Angel Grant from the Compassionate Care Fund, Cheryl was able to receive her life-saving medication and crucial psychological support. These resources have allowed her to regain control of her life and focus on her recovery. Cheryl’s gratitude says it all:

"I am so grateful for the Guardian Angel Grant. The grant helped me with life-saving medication and additional doctor’s appointments—I am better for it."

Fred's story.

When Fred’s wife was admitted to the William Childs Hospice House, their world was turned upside down. With limited resources, Fred worried he wouldn’t be able to stay by her side. But thanks to a Guardian Angel Grant, he was there for her final moments. Your support to the Compassionate Care Fund makes these priceless moments possible, giving families like Fred’s the gift of being together when it matters most.

Keith's story.

Keith had no major medical issues. He understood the value of good health, having worked as a nurse for more than 40 years. Diligent attention to his bloodwork and other follow up diagnostics showed that Keith had prostate cancer. He was symptom free, and this was a complete surprise. But he was ready to start the treatment course, which included radiation treatments five days per week for nine weeks. After he walked to and from his first few appointments, he finally spoke up and told his care team it might be too much for him to manage. Because of donor support through the Compassionate Care Fund, Keith was able to have Guardian Angel Grant assistance to pay for transportation every day for treatment.

Michelle's story.

Michelle recently received an electric medical chair that greatly increased her mobility. This chair not only allowed her to navigate her home independently but also gave her the confidence to live a full life. An unexpected benefit has been the improvement in her mental health; she now feels she can live her life with joy and love. Support to the Compassionate Care Fund has made this transformation possible.
