This year I’ll be participating in the 2024 Highland Park Stepping Out to Cure Scleroderma walk, a fundraising event supporting the work of the Scleroderma Foundation of Greater Chicago.
Please join us as we begin our walk at the Highland Park Metro Train Station (1800 St. John’s Ave.) on Sunday, June 23rd at 9:30 am (registration begins at 8 am).
Scleroderma is a chronic, often progressive autoimmune disease that causes hardening of the skin, can damage internal organs, and even become fatal. Scleroderma affects over 300,000 people. This disease remains misunderstood, misdiagnosed, and underfunded. Many of us live with the challenges that this disease presents every day and we appreciate those of you who have so generously made contributions in the past. You can help us get one step closer to finding a cure for this disease by supporting this walk. The money we raise promotes public awareness, stimulates and supports research, and helps patients and their families cope through support programs, peer counseling, physician referrals, and educational information.
