What: A 5k Community walk/run raising funds and awareness for the James W. Foley Legacy Foundation
When: Saturday, October 12th, 2024
Where: We will meet on the ASP Campus at 10am. Find us by the US cafeteria. We'll walk as a group to the starting point of the run in the Parc de Saint Cloud.

Who We Are

The Paris Runs for Jim team is a dedicated group of runners and walkers who participated in the James W. Foley Legacy Foundation Freedom Run for nearly a decade. We are friends, family members, and supporters united by our commitment to honoring the memory of James Foley, a courageous an compassionate freelance journalist. Jim was reporting from the front lines in Syria when he was captured in 2012 and held prisoner for nearly two years before his tragic murder by ISIS in 2014.

Why We Are Running

We run to remember Jim’s bravery, his commitment to truth, and his unwavering dedication to giving a voice to the voiceless. The James W. Foley Legacy Foundation was established in his memory to support the families of American hostages and to protect freelance journalists who risk their lives in conflict zones around the world. By participating in this run, we continue Jim’s legacy of courage and compassion, while raising awareness and funds to ensure that others like him are supported and protected.

Every step we take is a tribute to Jim’s spirit and a pledge to stand with those who continue to fight for freedom and truth.
